provide your vCard as a QR Code on your business cards.

posted Friday, 29 August 2008
I've been chatting to lots of people at work about rolling out our QR code projects. Triangualtion with Gwen and Matt resulted in me making a nice Friday discovery for those people who use / generate QR codes. The scenario is as follows, a person at a conference or meeting asks for your contact details. They happen to have a phone / pda / laptop that has a qr code reader. On the back of your business cards is a qr code that contain your contact details as a vCard. Once scaned then they simply save it to their contacts. The fun thing is that it works :-) To create your vCard as a qr code then visit ... http://www.quickmark.com.tw/En/diy/?qrVCard. I then printed this on a label and stuck it to the back of my busiess card (yes, I know, very high tech). I just need to test with a few other devices and readers, and identify an optimum size.

"Think of QR codes as a right mouse button to anything physical. Anything you want ‘more information about’ just click.

So every movie poster, every advertisement shown on tv, every compact disc label in a retail store should have a qr code on it".
