Putting a dvd on a palm pilot

posted Wednesday, 16 February 2005

Success - all for $15.00

All credit for the following goes to "junglemike" - http://www.mmplayer.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1504. I simply have used his guide, added a few notes and screenshots (my guide). You will need both, use junglemike's and cross reference with my screenshots.

The outcome is it works, I've converted a DVD which I own to play on my palm pilot (Tungsten T3), using MM Player (http://www.mmplayer.com). The software that is used to "rip" the DVD is Gordian Knot, which is freeware, and available - zip pack (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gordianknot/Gordian.Knot.Rip.Pack.0.28.8.Setup.exe?download) and the codec pack (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gordianknot/Gordian.Knot.Codec.Pack.1.7.Setup.exe?download).

I think its going to take quite awhile to optimise the settings, but that's work for the future.

At the moment, I'm simply relaxing watching the good, the bad and the ugly.

So it works :-) Now to look at converting some of the educational DVDs that have been created at the University.
